I have done some real research on the subject of real wood verses laminate. I live in Florida where humidly presents a problem for wood floors. Some of the better laminates are highly recommended here.

I was real wood can scratch and develop furniture and high heel marks where laminate holds up much better. Todays laminates are amazingly beautiful also.

I choose laminate for my bedrooms! I am “very satisfied” say the least!

  2. It does seem as though tiles are being replaced with wood or wood-type floors in Florida. An increasing number of people I speak with are moving in that direction. I can say that the selected floor colors do sell houses and I agree wholeheartedly with the posting. Quite recently we secured some laminate samples which were extremely high quality and looked exactly like wood. I have heard about laminates scratching easily. I will try it on one of our lower value remodels to see the actual results.

  3. I’m a big fan of the birth, but it depends on other accents in a home.

  4. Homes with hardwood floors really sold faster. Some independent estimates have shown that well-maintained hardwood flooring throughout the living areas can increase home value by around 15%.

  5. A good majority of my clients want a home with hardwood/high-end laminate floors. However, I have some that do NOT like hardwood floors and would rather have tile. One pet-peeve that I have is when hardwoods are in the kitchens. I think the material itself is fine, but it’s the combination of cabinets, flooring, countertops and wall color that gets to me. With all of the finishes and varieties available, you can end up putting an amazing space together or make the room feel like a congested humidor.

  6. Thanks for your good posting. The description of 3 Popular Types of Hardwood Floors is very good for understanding.

  7. Austin Home Buyers have always been big fans of wood floors. Although all the finishes you featured are beautiful, I really like the Cherry.

  8. Thanks for sharing. The price of hardwood is constantly fluctuating. Because most red and white oak hardwood flooring is locally sourced, it is usually a great deal.

  9. Love walnut floors. Unfortunately most floors in our area are red oak. They still look great stained though. Much better than fake laminate that can’t be refinished.
